Center for Gender, Sexuality, and HIV Prevention of Children’s Memorial Hospital Children’s renowned Center led by Dr. Robert Garofolo moved to Uptown last year. The Center provides clinical care, engages in public health advocacy, and conducts investigator-initiated research on health disparities affecting marginalized youth.
Howard Brown Health Center – Uptown-based Howard Brown Health Center (HBHC) is one of the nation’s oldest and premier lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer-focused (LGBTQ) healthcare providers.
Lakeside Pride – Lakeside Pride is a musical organization committed to the education of the public at large about the positive aspects of the metropolitan Chicago LGBT community through public musical performances, workshops and non-musical events.

Test Positive Awareness Network (TPAN) – TPAN empowers everyone living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS to live open, healthy, and productive lives. TPAN innovates to deliver peer-led support programs and collaborative wellness services and to communicate comprehensive information.
UIC School of Public Health – Community Outreach Intervention Project (COIP) UIC COIP provides prevention programs, medical services, testing and more for individuals & families at-risk for/living with infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS and hepatitis.
Chicago Women’s Health Resource Center – A unique collective working together to provide affordable, compassionate, and collaborative gynecological and mental health care to women and trans people in the Chicago area. Now at Broadway & Sunnyside (across from Target).
Chicago Lakeshore Hospital/Valeo Pride – The Valeo Pride program provides quality inpatient treatment for patients with depression, anxiety, alcohol, and/or drug abuse. Their team works with patients to create a plan of care designed to meet individual needs with sensitivity to issues of the LGBTQ community, and a place to openly address feelings without stigma or prejudice. Diverse therapeutic programs are a unique feature of the Valeo Pride Inpatient Program.
TransTech Social Enterprises – The mission of TransTech Social Enterprises is to economically empower individuals in the transgender community through the use of technology. TransTech offers programs to be outsourced to non-profits seeking economic empowerment, but also an in-house apprenticeship program that will work one-on-one with people in our community. The goal is to help shape lives to become independent tech professionals, that can help maintain and develop creative solutions for clients.
Chicago House – Chicago House and Social Service agency serves individuals and families who are disenfranchised by HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ marginalization, poverty, homelessness, and/or gender nonconformity by providing housing, employment services, medical linkage and retention services, HIV prevention services, legal services and other supportive programs.
Equality Illinois – Equality Illinois builds a better Illinois by advancing equal treatment and social justice through education, advocacy and protection of the rights of the LGBT community. Equality Illinois has the goal of promoting legislation to protect the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals with regard to safe schools, hospital visitation, inheritance rights, bereavement leave and the many other rights that affect LGBT citizens across Illinois.
The Center on Halsted – “Uptown Proud” was developed in collaboration with the Center’s “Chicago Proud” community outreach project to encourage the entire Chicagoland area to be more inclusive & welcoming for LGBT people.
